A little bedroom action

Slowwwly, ever so slowly, the master bedroom is taking shape and I see promise. I picked up my bedside lamps and am happy with how they look beside the bed. I wasn't, however, happy with the lampshades - black nubby linen on the outside, ok, but white on the inside, not ok. So, now the shades are out getting rubbed and buffed with a metallic-finish-in-a-tube product called Rub-N-Buff.

Also, my monogrammed linen coverlet came back from the workroom and damn if it wasn't a comforter. Just a thin layer of batting, but then tacked all over. Not, what I wanted, so it's going back.

I discovered a wallpaper sample at Colonial and loved the colors. I brought it home and it has inspired me! I want a large piece of art over my bed that has the yellow, some orange, black and beige.

i need art in these colors

The other space that has been creeping along is the home office. I'm making a little headway there but you'll have to use your imagination.  Here's the desk

The two blanc de chine lamps are getting tall barrel shades in that fuchsia. Then, in a surprise change-up, these chairs which have been waiting for Mongolian lamb, among other things, are going to be painted black and be covered in a black and white plaid. I found it at the discount fabric digs yesterday. I wasn't sure what I'd do with it, but in a fit of inspiration, voila - as of this morning, it's going in the office.

Oh, and.... the nailed headboard is going back to the upholsterer on Monday do get the nailheads out. Another step for one guest room!

There's going to be a flurry of activity around here in the next couple of weeks. Goods will be coming down from ATL via Robin in the family wagon on the way to vacay. And I'm picking out more fabric for the spun fiberglass chairs, the chinoiserie chair for a guest room, and some more pillows. Good God! Girl is on a roll!
